Our school is connected to eduroam
Federation eduroam is an internation
project that offers support for mobility and roamingu
in natuinak research and education networks (NREN).
In the Czech Republic is this project coordinated by CESNET organtization.
Our school has join the project in 2024. This was a step forward to imporvement of quality of providing education and raising
the prestige.
One account. Anywhere.
A registered participant can use this wireless network (wherever
available) by having a single user account. The account management is done
by home organization of the user.
The use of roaming is easy, correctly set up device of the
participant connects automatically anywhere eduroam
network is available. In this way it is similar to mobile networks and roaming
in foreign countries. This is where the acronym: education roaming
is coming from.
The service is free for all the participants.
Account activation eduroam
For local user activation for eduroam
the user name consists of 2 parts: name of the person and domain name zs2hslavkov.cz.
After user name, that you use in other systems of the school, you
will have to add @ and zs2hslavkov.cz.
Setting up devices for eduroam
For secure connection to eduroam
apart from entering the user name and password you have to setup
certificate control, the easiest is to do so via eduroam CAT, see eduroam.cz documentation.
For manual setup you will need the following info:
Covered area
eduroam is broadcast
in all classrooms and school areas where WiFi signal
is available.
Traffic filtration
Traffic is filtered in accordance with the legislation in
the Czech Republic.
SMTP traffic (TCP/25) is blocked, for sending emails, please
use SMTPS (TCP/465) or Submission (TCP/587).

should ask for support at their home institution; that is the one which created
their account.
